For any organization, developing their business is one of the key targets and it can only be achieved with an exceptional and passionate business creation leader. Team Faber Infinite is glad to have one such leader who perfectly fits this role. We are glad to showcase – Mandar Tulankar in iFaber for the month of January 19. We had a brief interaction with him about his journey with Faber Infinite, the challenges he faced and about his experiences. The excerpts of the journey are mentioned below.
Faber Infinite (FI) – What is your role at Faber Infinite Consulting (FICS)? What three words would you use to describe your role?
Mr. Mandar Tulankar (MT) – I work as a Business Development Manager at Faber Infinite Consulting. I am the first point of contact for the clients. I convey to the external world the services that Faber Infinite has to offer and give right solutions to the problems and concerns that the client has.
If I were to describe my role in three words, I would use Innovative, Goal-Oriented and Self-motivated.
Innovative because earlier I was part of young ventures and in such organizations, you must be innovative and go out of the way to get the results.
Goal-oriented because I work to achieve a clearly defined goal because until you have a fixed and clear target, you won’t know in which direction to go or to even start.
And, Self-motivated because I don’t need someone to acknowledge my work to make me feel good. For me, the inner feeling of satisfaction after doing something good is the biggest motivation and recognition.
FI – What does a typical day look like for you at FICS?
MT – It ideally starts with a checking our CRM activity which typically denotes the upcoming activities followed by attending aligned meetings. Further, I co-ordinate the earlier days tasks that were to be completed. Towards the end, I spend 15-20 minutes planning my next day. So, that is how my day proceeds.
FI – What is most rewarding about your job; what makes it all worthwhile?
MT – For me, meeting the decision makers of the organization is the most rewarding part of my job. Discussions with such leaders is something which is priceless, and you can gain a lot of insights. I feel working on the field and meeting people across sectors and boundaries for business creation is the best part of my job. It helps me learn a lot of different things which I cannot learn in a class, workshop or sitting in the office.
FI – What is your motto or personal mantra?
MT – It is “Kingship knows no kinship”. It has got a lot of meanings but what I follow is that everyone is equal in front of the law and no one is bigger than the rules itself, not even the king.
FI – What are your biggest professional challenges?
MT – The biggest challenge for me is that I take failures very personally even though I am not involved in the task. It takes me some time to get over it. Also, I’m still trying to get a better work-life balance in my life.
FI – If you could change one thing about working here, what would it be?
MT – Well, the system is too good to be changed. Everything is very precisely defined and if you understand the system, it will make a well-organized person, not just professionally, but also in your personal life. Frankly, I couldn’t have asked for a better work culture and organizational system.
FI – How has FICS helped you in your career development?
MT – It has helped me a lot in honing my skills. As I said earlier, meeting the top management of the companies is a learning opportunity for me. With the organization having expertise in various industries across various locations, I believe it has added to my skill set and has made me more prominent and effective in offering the best to our clients and prospects. Moreover, I am equipped to understand business challenges (said and unsaid both) for my prospects and helping them achieve the unexpected.
FI – What do you like most about FICS?
MT – The best thing about Faber Infinite is the flat hierarchy system which is result driven. The management is highly supportive, and you are free to ask your queries no matter how small it is, irrespective of their busy schedule so that the client can get the right perspective and solutions.
FI – Tell us something which we do not know about you
MT – I prefer being in solitude. I am a complete introvert. I would prefer being surrounded by birds. I even have a collection of 12 wild birds that were rescued, and they now have their own space in my house and they can fly around wherever they want.
Thank you, Faber Mandar, for sharing these wonderful and encouraging details about you and life at Faber. We wish you luck for all your future assignments.
