Did you know the New Year Resolution has been around since 4000 years now?
Decades ago, the Babylonians (an ancient Akkadian-speaking state and cultural area based in central-southern Mesopotamia. presently in Iraq) used to promise their Gods at the beginning of every year that they will return all the borrowed objects and repay all their debts. Seeing this, Romans also started to promise their God Janus – from whom the month – January has got its name.
Every year we see & hear everyone around us going gaga about their New Years Resolution. But a research result shows that only 8% out of the total population actually achieve their resolution.
Also, as per the research, around 30% of the total population doesn’t make such New Years Resolutions because they know that it won’t sustain and neither will that be achieved. But rest 70% of the population which makes the resolution are 10x more likely to achieve their goals.
This New Year be the one of those 70% who make New Year Resolutions and be one of those 8% who achieve the same. Let’s make a resolution of accepting and adapting the change for good. Because as per a Chinese proverb – The best time to plant a tree of change was 20 years ago. The second best time is NOW.
Wishing you all a fabulous and prosperous New Year, from everyone at Faber Infinite Consulting.
