Positive Leadership : 4 Key Strategies to Organizational Success

Positive leadership is one of the most important factors for any organization. Positive leaders play a key role in generating the optimal performance of individuals, groups, and organizations. But how can one become a positive leader? And what differentiators are required for positive leadership?

The conceptual framework of positive leadership has resulted in different forms of positive leaders such as transformational, servant, spiritual, authentic, and ethical.

  • Transformational leadership:

The transformational leadership was introduced for the first time in oppose to the traditional concept of transactional leadership. In the case of transactional leadership, the leader trades for something they desire in exchange for a reward. Whereas transformational leaders are those who would motivate and transform their teams to achieve not just organizational goals but mutual – organizational as well as personal goals.

  • Servant Leadership:

Servant leaders are those who place their followers’ needs, interest, and aspirations above their personal needs and aspirations. The thoughtful choice is to serve the development and success of the organization over its own.

This way, the theory of servant leadership highlights the concept of service to others and the recognition that the role of the organization is to enable the formation of individuals who can help create a positive organizational environment.

  • Spiritual leadership

The objective of spiritual leadership is to motivate and inspire team members through hope towards a vision of providing service to key stakeholders in the organization. It is based on the values of selfless service to result in a highly motivated, committed and productive team.

  • Authentic leadership

Authentic leaders are brilliant with deep moral convictions. They are those whose behaviour is strongly inspired by the ethical principles for the benefit of the group. They are greatly aware of their thoughts, emotions, skills, value system and perception by others, they possess a high dose of confidence, optimism, hope, resilience, and moral strength and avoid behaving inconsistently even when their followers.
