Change does not roll in on the wheels of inevitability, but comes through continuous struggle. And so we must straighten our backs and work for our freedom. A man can’t ride you unless your back is bent. – Martin Luther King, Jr.

There is no correct day or date to initiate change. Its setting in is inevitabile. However, one has to be prepared and keep the back straight to manage the change.  Recently team Faber Infinite launched the initial stage of change management journey at one of the largest textile machine manufacturer in Gujarat. The organization is into business for more than five decades now.

After thoughtful deliberation, the launch of transformation journey was planned and executed. A detailed evaluation to gauge the basic health of the organization was conducted. It presented details on the current situation of organization, benchmark with world class standards and potential to improve along with ballpark benefit estimates.

The exercise is a comprehensive evaluation of the organization which includes functions like finance, operations, marketing, supply chain and others. Each segment being a stakeholder in progress of the organization, contributes to the smooth functioning.

Along with several on the job analysis and exercises, for capturing the pulse of the organization, more than 20 parameters/ ratio relating to Costs, Delivery, Quality, Capacity, Productivity, Efficiency, Breakdowns, Inventory Ratios, Safety and others were captured and analyzed in detail.

Also, the Faber Infinite team invested time on the shop-floor to identify the gaps and meet managers/ team members individually.

The exercise pinpointed at the areas of strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and the tools to be deployed for improvement. It resulted in a detailed report with implementation road and ballpark estimates of potential benefits.

The launch exercise paved way for a continuous journey – a mission to support organizational development and prosperity.  All the stake holders and top management showed commitments by planting and adopting a tree in the factory premise as symbol of growth.

We have already made progress in crafting growth opportunities for the client. I will share the details in the next post.
