104: The crucial number which hit the record, making India Proud

ISRO is in full swing taking over others as the new emerging superstar among the space agencies. There used to be a time when PSLV- Polar Satellite Launch Vehicles were not considered to be the reliable space launch vehicles. This now changed and the recent example is the success of 104 satellites by ISRO. The whole country was taken by pride on 15th February, 2017 when we succeeded in marking a precedent with the recent achievement. We have been fortunate enough to witness these achievements and accomplishments back to back after the very successful Mars Orbiter Mission in 2014.

On 20th September, 1993 when ISRO had launched its first PSLV it had resulted into a failure. But we emerged successfully and did a remarkable job, creating a milestone for the entire world by the recent launch of 104 satellites in one go in spite of resource constraints. This is a true example of great leadership skills, efficient and effective management skills, teamwork and co-ordination. This might have not been possible without these essential elements. These are the pre-requisites for any business, organization, agency, individual etc. to attain success.

ISRO set a new record on 15th February, 2017 by the launch of Cartosat-2 series satellite for Earth observation and 103 other co-passenger satellites from a single rocket. The launch took place from Satish Dhawan space Centre (SDSC) SHAR, Sriharikota.

This is a noteworthy and incredible achievement which has added feather to the achievements of India. The launch includes nano-satellites (weighing below 10 kg each) from five countries — the United States, Netherlands, Israel, Kazakhstan and Switzerland — along with a trio of Indian satellites. With this accomplishment India has left Russia behind which had launched 37 satellites from a single space launch vehicle.

The Cartosat satellites are launched to provide remote sensing services. For Instance, images sent by it will be useful for coastal land use and regulation, road network monitoring, distribution of water and creation of land use maps, etc.  The Indian nano satellites INS-1A and INS-1B were developed as co-passenger satellites to accompany bigger satellites. This mission has proved to be the most cost efficient project which adds to the notable remark.

This has proved that we are not only emerging but also leaving our footprints and succeeding massively at a greater speed. The constraint in resources has not affected the level of determination, energy and efficiency. Infact we have overcome those factors to emerge as the best, leading and winning the race of success. This is exactly what the organizations need to adopt and learn from our ISRO team members and their achievements, which will surely bring great deal of enthusiasm leading to attainment of the organizational goals and success.
