Do you know that in 1970’s the Western world was disturbed by the Japanese manufacturers? The Japanese had captured a substantial share of the US market and were offering products that even the domestic manufacturers were not able to match.
People began to ask – What is it that the Japanese are doing right? Can we implement it?
Initially, everyone thought it was the Japanese culture — attention to details, team goals come before individual goals, order, neatness etc. But gradually they understood that it was a new approach to manufacturing – Just in Time. Just In Time is originated from Japan and was invented by Kiichiro Toyoda and Taiicho Ohno in the year 1950. JIT is based on the Kanban System; a logistical process by which signals are issued by using colored cards, signs, flags or lights. Two main components of JIT philosophy are planning elimination of all waste and continuous improvement of productivity.
Faber Infinite has been helping clients deliver phenomenal results using JIT, are you using it?
