Personal well-being or fitness, whatever you call it is very important. If not taken seriously it might lead to burnout or depression, thus affecting both work and personal life. The body, soul, and mind are the three pillars of personal fitness. Harm to any one or more affects our productivity and can affect our ability to take challenges. Any dysfunction in any of the three pillars leads to the destruction of all our business intellect and capabilities. Along with the three pillars we should take care of your thoughts, words that we use and the actions that we do. So, this Transformation Tuesday, let us work on our personal fitness and become more efficient and effective.

Thoughts

Be careful about stress due to work. Work is important and it is your source of income, but remember it is not everything. There is more to life beyond work. Plan your fitness goals and take breaks to refresh. Build good habits, that will help you improve.

Words

You are an average of 5 people around you. So be with people who are positive. Listen to words of motivation from others and engage in positive talks.

Actions

As a part of actions, you need to work on mind, body, and soul.

Body

  • Train your body for strength, agility, and flexibility
  • Nourish your body with healthy food. Listen to the body and the signals that it gives
  • Rest well to rejuvenate yourself

Mind

  • Take up a new hobby or learn a new sport
  • Work on big and small problems or puzzles. It is not necessary that you solve them. Exercise your brain
  • Practice the skill to unlearn and learn
  • Rejuvenate yourself with maybe music or silence if that works for you
  • Do not delay work, try to overcome inactivity

Soul

  • Build good relationships with your teams
  • Push yourself beyond your comfort zone
  • Give back to society by helping the less privileged
  • Take a pause and relax in nature
  • Travel to places and experience new cultures, history, food, etc

The key to growth is to ensure that the moment you find a problem in one of these three pillars (mind, body, and soul), you must immediately involve in activities that strengthen all the three pillars.

All of us should commit half an hour every day for ourselves. Taking this half an hour which is just two percent of your day, will make wonders. Retirement age is not relevant. It is your fitness age that matters. So, commit time for your personal fitness, thus displaying better momentum and way better productivity. As Aristotle quotes – We are what we repeatedly do, Excellence then, is not an act, but a habit.”
