Invest Your Energy Wisely To Be More Productive

In our life, we are given a finite amount of energy and how we invest it defines our entire personal as well as professional life satisfaction. There is a difference between managing time and managing energy. When we say managing time it can be applied to any task that fits your calendar. Managing energy means understanding what tasks make you feel energized. It also means choosing the right engagement to invest this time.

This Transformation Tuesday, let us look at some ways to maximize our energy for growth and contentment:

Keep yourself as the first priority

Always keep yourself and your health as the highest priority. With additional energy, we will create a better working environment and greater quality of work. If you take care of yourself it will automatically lead to better work quality, better performance, lesser sick leaves, improved engagement levels, increased amiability among co-employees, and an overall improvement in physical and mental well-being.

Involve in what energizes you

If you are not sure of what energizes you the most, then you can keep a track of all the activities that you do in a week. Check which activities energize you the most. Keep a check of small things that you can change to make for better experiences. May be keep a checklist:

  • What tasks or activities energize me the most?
  • When does time pass quickly or fast?
  • If I do not go to work for a week, what would I do?
  • What is it that I could do for 8 hours and not get tired at all?
  • Doing what makes me feel happiest?
Apply what you learn

There is a huge difference between knowing and applying what you know. Once you know what energizes you, you can make small changes such as delegating specific work. You need to decide if you want to take small steps or take a big leap. You need to decide what best suits you. Do not engage in tasks that drain you, because it will affect your work, relationship, and general happiness.

The result is that where you devote your energy is the most important choice for living a content life. Your energy is your valuable and non-refundable currency and your time is your investment so invest it prudently.
