Changing the culture of the company to incorporate transformations, new ways of operation, and thinking is the hardest challenge for any organization to handle. Leaders should work towards creating an environment to promote change. They should equip teams with the right resources to proactively respond to change. Leaders need to imbibe a change-ready culture in the organization to succeed in tough times. Below are the pointers that we promote all leaders should follow to mobilize change management:
Communication
Be connected to the team. Establish communication channels to receive and share information. Keep the communication clear, precise and easily available to all. Always make clear with the team – why this change is being done? Also, discuss with them what will happen in the process of change and how will it affect them or their work. Leaders need to build an effective communication channel involving everyone in the organisation.
Engagement
Promote an environment of teamwork and co-operation. Be engaged with the team. Always be available to answer your team’s queries and support them wherever needed. Encourage or empower high performing team members to become more innovative and adaptable in handling unexpected and tough times. Also, make sure that low performing team members should be aware of how to manage their work and pair them with high performers to create greater force.
Adapt
Leaders should help teams to adapt to the change and find out emerging patterns and create new ways and solutions for the team to be more productive. Leaders should be objective in data analysis and in communicating results.
Resilience
Always relate to the teams through the transformation process, to understand what is working and what is not working. If anything is going the wrong check so that it is not repeated. Go through the lessons learned each day by the team and understand what they have learned and how will they change in the process of transformation
Innovation
Promote innovation and engage the team to perform better in the transformation. Encourage them to present new ideas. Recognize and reward them for good work. Urge them to work towards excellence.
Any organizational transformation is a major leap. But adopting a continuous change culture and mentality in the organization will help the employees to prepare better for the future. Sometimes change needs an individual or organization to take a giant leap. But individuals or organizations would not be able to fly unless they are ready to transform. So, go ahead and take the leap for better.
