Progressive organizations work on continuous improvement. When it comes to the change management initiatives there are several factors that affect the success of the initiatives. There are certain activities which when included and followed in the right sequence. They will help the organizations sustain and benefit from the change management initiatives. This Transformation Tuesday lets us look at 5 elements that are essential in bringing stability to the organization thus assisting it to excel continuously for sustainable growth in business.

Objective

The reason for any change management initiative is to understand the larger picture of why the change is being implemented. When the objective is very well defined, it will create a positive effect on the team and the team gets charged up to work for the initiative.

It helps the entire organization to understand the need for the change initiative. Lack of defined objectives will keep the employees disoriented and will take the focus away. When the purpose is defined then the whole organization works towards achieving it. It also helps organizations to come up with the most difficult situations.

SMART Goals

One the objective or the why part of the transformation journey is defined, organizations should move on to setting clear expectations on the goals. The goals can be hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, yearly, they must be SMART (Specific, Measurable, Action-Oriented, Realistic, and Relevant, Timebound). If the goals are clearly defined, then the transformation journey is meaningful and fast.

Right Tools and Technology

Once the why of the transformation journey and the goals are defined, organizations should look at defining how of the transformation journey. Using the right tools and techniques to achieve goals is imperative. It is necessary to use a structured methodology with the right tools, techniques, and technology to achieve short-term and long-term goals.

Discipline

Why some organizations even after well-defined objectives, SMART goals, right tools, and techniques, do not achieve success is because of lack of discipline. Leaders should have constant self-discipline to master the art of achieving goals. Discipline helps to achieve the real purpose. All progressive organizations focus on doing things right now and thus eventually cultivate the habit of discipline. It is the bridge between the purpose and the achievement, and all the organizations should work towards making the bridge stronger.

Assess yourself

Organizations need to assess themselves and understand what went wrong and what needs to be done to improve. Teams in the organization need to do the analysis of the things that went wrong and how can they be improved. It should be a continuous improvement process that the organizations should follow.

Organizations should focus on the above-mentioned elements and gain long term profits. And sustainable growth through employee engagement, teamwork, and self-assessment.
