Have you ever questioned organizational culture and why some people (who are not on the same team) are more successful than others? Why do various types of people within the same firm appear to be at ease with one another, lowering their show and increasing diplomacy? Why do some individuals never seem to do anything? Or why is it so difficult to promote them to the next level? This Transformation Tuesday, let us look at a few of the strategies that leaders of any organization can follow:
Like the tribal chiefs have a greater influence on their tribes’ culture than others. Similarly, corporate leaders have a strong impact on their teams. Ambitious leaders concentrate on improving the team’s position by growing, adapting, and upgrading the performance. The team members reward them with “cult-like loyalty” if they succeed.
All the cultures will have different rituals, similarly, all organizations may have different cultures – except the leadership ritual. The entire team will follow the leader and the leader has to make sure that the opportunities have been given to the team.
Based on the learnings from the great Madiba Nelson Mandela, below are the two key traits of a successful leader.
Care And Compassion for the team:
Every team’s and the organization’s face is the team leader.
Team leaders are in charge of training their teammates, developing strategies, and keeping track of their progress toward their objectives. Communication, problem-solving, organizational, and delegation abilities are essential for good leaders.
They motivate the team members to do even better the next time around. Encourage team members to assist one another to achieve their objectives and finish work in a timely and efficient manner. The team leader should take the initiative to bring the members of the team closer together.
They may work as part of a team, completing project-related activities as well as leading the team. When team members are driven to contribute to the achievement of a common goal, they are better equipped to work as a unit and achieve a common goal.
A leader speaks at the last:
A good leader always allows others to speak up first. He/she will never stop giving others opportunities. Leadership is a skill that must be developed and fostered, thus anyone in charge of a team or a corporation should continue to absorb, counsel and advice. It’s not about promoting oneself to become a leader; it’s about assisting others in succeeding and thriving. The term “leadership” is frequently used to describe someone who influences others (in a group). The ultimate purpose of leadership is to get the best out of the people on your team.
