Commitment is a feature that is demonstrated when you have decided to pursue something and will not be diverted by anything. We face a variety of challenges on daily basis, which is why learning to be determined is so essential in our lives.
Several leaders have achieved incredible feats via pure willpower, powers, skills, and so much more. These people never lost trust in themselves and worked relentlessly to achieve their objectives. Reaching what you want isn’t always easy; getting where you want to go takes a lot of effort.
This Transformation Tuesday, sharing the story of a determined leader from India, Dr. Abdul Kalam, India’s highly regarded President and Missile Man: The Man Who Taught Us to Be Human First!
Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam, popularly known as A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, served as India’s 11th President from 2002 until 2007. Popularly known as the People’s President, he was the driving force behind India’s achievement of nuclear status in the global sphere and was named the “Missile Man of India” for his efforts on ballistic missile and space rocket technology development.
He was one of those well-liked people in this nation who made a significant contribution to our society as a scientist, leader, and President. Kalam visited several educational institutes and universities in India as a visiting lecturer after his tenure as President ended. He enjoyed sharing his expertise and inspiring others to see the larger picture of life.
Kalam, who was born into a poor household, quickly realized that he had to pay for his own education in whatever way he could. Kalam began selling newspapers at a young age to support himself and his family. Money, on the other hand, never deterred him from pursuing knowledge. His insatiable desire to learn drove him to complete his studies effectively. After graduating from the Institute of Technology in Madras with a degree in aeronautical engineering in 1960, he worked as a scientist with the Defense Research and Development Organization’s DRDO or Aeronautical Development Establishment.
He was the one who turned our nation into nuclear power in the purest sense. India carried out its first nuclear test in 1974, under the supervision of Dr. Kalam. After that, in 1988, followed the Pokhran –II. Dr. Kalam used these nuclear tests to demonstrate India’s position and might in nuclear technology to the rest of the world.
If Mr. Kalam can raise from zero to one of the best scientists in the world, then anyone can achieve their goals and reach the pinnacle of success.
SHARING SOME WAYS TO IMPROVE YOUR ORGANIZATION’S DETERMINATION!
- Encourage yourself in your goals. Keep a clear image of where your company is going every day.
- Manage your priorities.
- Authorize tasks.
- Implement change that motivates your employees
- Keep unambiguous communication
Determination is a task that requires all your power to complete, not just a few days of work. When you’re committed to anything, you don’t just start working on it for a few days and then quit. Both external and internal forces will conspire against you. This will put your leadership abilities to the test; stay focused and always strive toward your team’s goal.
Examine your alternatives and select the one that is ideal for your team.
As a leader, you must have a major character that “doesn’t give up easy.” Continue to strive for your objective until you accomplish it.”
